Stranger Tides Hostel is located on the seafront in the beautiful Boka Bay Fjord, which offers many exciting hikes and tours along with stunning views.
Stranger Tides Hostel has been home to the family of its owners for many generations. The original stone house/museum was built over 1000 years ago in the Mediterranean style typical of this region. Dobrota is a residential neighborhood of Kotor just outside the Old Town. The hostel is a few meters from the sea.
The surroundings are calm and peaceful – perfect for a romantic getaway or to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Access to the sea is about 150 meters downhill, where you can do as the locals do and dive into the sea from the many ‘Ponta’ (points) along the coastline. Famous beaches, Orahovac Beach, Plavi Horizonti Beach, Bajova Kula Beach, and Jaz Beach are within a 20-40 minute drive.
While developing the property, Stranger Tides Hostel has kept the look and design to match the original structure of the house, working with local stones and wood on all the exteriors of the rooms so that the rooms look like rooms in a large old ship from the 17th century. The interiors are handmade, clean, and elegant!

“I loved my time at this hostel so much it was hard to leave! It was a great decision to stay a little bit away from Kotor. The hostel is right next to the water, wake up in the morning, have breakfast on the pier, and jump into the water. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
